Day 2: London

Today me and Kat took our time getting ready and headed out to Tower Bridge! I recently learned that the iconic bridge with the towers is not the London Bridge, it is Tower Bridge. The London Bridge is an underwhelming bridge 1km or so up the River Thames from the Tower Bridge.

We crossed the bridge and poked around the Tower of London. Originally the home to the Royal Family (served as their fort), later became a prison, and now houses the Crown Jewels.

We walked along the River Thames, ate a Kebab, then finally hopped on the tube to go to Westminster. Here we saw Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and a big ass statue of Winston Churchill. We walked through St James’s park and then we stopped in a cafe to warm up and drink a London Fog (is it just called fog here?).

Guess who?

It’s Ben

Calling our mums (just kidding we’re too cheap)

St James’s Park

The cafe was right along the perimeter of Trafalgar Square so we crossed the square, listened to some live music (none other than the Beatles) and then walked through the theatre district (a must see at night), Soho (take all my money), and Chinatown (get in ma belly). We met with James for supper and had some tasty Chinese food in Chinatown.

Adulting in Trafalgar Square
Got stuck on the tube in Soho between Shakespeare and a guard after his shift

Kat and James then had tickets to see a show so I walked around a bit through Convent Park and again through the Theatre District and around Piccadilly Circus but it was raining so I turned in with some snacks and spent some time with Anu, Katiana’s roommate (also the star of Amaluna, the Cirque du Soleil show that Kat is currently working on in London!)

THIS is her roommate: https://youtu.be/9zib2rejAlo

  1. Hey Day 2 – I also didn’t know that London Bridge is the underwelming one, but be because by now it has fallen down (like the song) Too funny no matter what country “kebab” is on the menu…make us for supper one day once your home. Ben is huge ! The weather looks like the typical famous English Damp & Rainy.
The phone booth pics are hysterical, being to cheap just pretending to call your moms! The pic of the waterfall in mouth is great! The cirque looked amazing !
